From 5 January 2026, all CCS eligible families will receive a minimum of 72 subsidised hours of childcare per fortnight, regardless of the family’s hours of recognised activity. For OSHC, this is approximately 6 days of Holiday HQ per fortnight and stretches even further for term time sessions, Rise then Shine & Stay and Play!

Who does this benefit?

The 3 Day Guarantee will benefit around more than 100,000 families. Families with low or irregular activity hours will experience the most significant impact.

  • Sarah and Alex are a couple with one child attending OSHC 15 hours per week. Their combined family income is $90,000 per annum. Sarah works full-time and Alex works 2 hours per week.

    Previously, they were eligible for 0 hours of subsidised care per week. From January 2026, they are eligible for 36 hours per week (72 hours per fortnight).
